Interesting facts about the roster:

-All seven of the 2011 draft picks will be attending camp this year, most notable is first round selection Mark Scheifele. A few weeks ago IC”s Ezra Ginsburg with the help of Corey Pronman wrote the article “Winnipeg Jets 2011 NHL Entry Draft Class – One Year Latera must read for Jets fans. The other 2011 draft picks are (with round in parentheses), Adam Lowry (3rd), Brennan Serville (3rd), Zach Yuen (4th), Austen Brassard (5th), Jason Kasdorf (6th), and Aaron Harstad (7th)

-Five players at camp are coming off the 2011-12 season after playing a year with the St. John’s IceCaps of the AHL, with their 2011-12 AHL regular season statistics.

John Albert – 64GP/9G/18A/+10/27PTS

What we said about John Albert last year.

Jason Gregoire – 44GP/6G/8A/+4/14PTS

What we said about Jason Gregoire last year.

Carl Klingberg – 66GP/15G/22A/+2/37PTS

What we said about Carl Klingberg last year

Eric O’Dell – 39GP/12G/10A/+6/22PTS

Zach Redmond – 72GP/8G/23A/+9/31PTS

Redmond is the only defenseman from the IceCaps who will be at camp. In his first professional season, Redmond impressed, making the All Star team along with Paul Postma (who will be vying for a spot on the Jets).

-This year’s first round pick Jacob Trouba will be at camp, here’s some information we posted on him last week.

-There will be two Winnipeggers at camp this year, the first is goaltender Jason Kasdorf who was drafted in 2011, previously played with the Portage Terriers and spent 2011-12 with the Des Moines Buccaneers of the USHL. and Peter Stoykewych who was drafted in the 7th round (199th overall) in 2010 by the Atlanta Thrashers. Stoykewych previously played for the Winnipeg South Blues, and spent last season with the Colorado College Tigers of NCAA Division 1.

-Defenseman Cody Sol, drafted in the 5th round (125th overall) in 2009 by Atlanta is the biggest player in camp. Listed at 6’6 and 242 lbs, the 21-year-old monster spent last season playing with Kitchener of the OHL. He recorded 38 points in 62 games while racking up 178 PIMs. Sol is more of an enforcer than a scorer and the great site HockeyFights.com has some of his recent fights for your viewing pleasure. No word on what his favourite beer is, but I think it might be Mexican.

-2012 second round pick Lukas Sutter (son of Rich Sutter) will be in camp, making him one of two Jets prospects who are sons of former NHLers (Adam Lowry, son of Dave Lowry is the other).

-Ivan Telegin was drafted in the 4th round (101st overall) in 2010 by Atlanta and spent last season playing with Mark Scheifele on the Barrie Colts. He recorded 64 points in 46 games.

Really intrigued by JST. He has some offensive upside and a significant amount of truculence.
How long does the camp run?
