I honestly think that Trouba’s upside is similar to that of Rob Blake. Big, physical d-man who can skate and owns a booming shot from the point.

Worse case scenario, He ends up as a better skating Brent Seabrook. He will be a better defenseman than Aaron Ward because Ward was not a great skater.

I like the looks of his game (quite a bit actually, he has some Pronger elements in that iso video), but am a little worried about the fact that he seems to have no aspiration (in the interviews I’ve seen) to make the Jets next year. Maybe he is being realistic, but the college aspect is a little worrisome. I hope this isn’t Aaron Ward part two.

Just liked the fact that Cheveldayoff made a point of using the word “character” in his description of Trouba/the reason why the Jets selected him.

Really have nothing to go on. The Lightning (picking 10th) also passed on Forsberg/Grigorenko/Faksa so… there’s that.

I had my heart set on Forsberg but the more I look at Trouba the more I like him. They showed that clip from when he was 11 a couple times…man did he hammer that kid
