I don’t think there is any chance that he would play in the AHL if he were to return to junior this year. You’re talking about making his actual NHL debut in 2014-2015 which is very unlikely to me. It’s either play this season in the OHL and then NHL after that, or NHL this season.

Why do you say Scheifele will play in the OHL next year? What are you basing that on? He’s ready for the NHL and it would be sad to see him go back for an easy year of hockey.

Guy makes the NHL next year full-time is my guess.

I want to add…

I love Corey’s insight on Scheifele. I knew his strength would improve bit I was worried about his skating. First line upside is all we can ask for.

In 4 years time Bogo, Kane, Burmi and Scheifele should all be major contributors and they will all be 25 years of age or younger. That is something to look forward to.
