I think the issue with Carter is the cost (young talented players) and the fact that by the time he has exited his prime it seems to coincide with when the Jets intend on competing. With that being the case, the Jets likely will not want another six or seven years left on that deal.

What do you guys think of the Jets trying to acquire Jeff Carter? He has a full NTC for the next few seasons so he would have to accept the trade, but hypothetically what if he said yes? What is his market value? Columbus gave up a first and 3rd rounder and a RFA prospect (Voracek) for him last year. Would the Jets be willing to pay that price for a star with a reasonable contract (5.2) through 2021-22 to centre their top line? I know Chevvy wants character guys and, dry island aside, he is that type of player. He was the first sub on team Canada 2010.
Kane, Postma and a 3rd for Carter? Too much?
