great read. I wish my hockey trip to Montreal was anything close to what you experienced. I went to the World Cup. Let’s judt say people act different, when they’re play and routing for their Country. I do think it was a tad about the city too. I’ve always loved Canada and go out of my way to talk Canadians them when they visit the US.

Awesome story!!! So many cool things coming out of Winnipeg! I am thrilled for these guys, and amazed that the Winnipeg population embraced them as they did myself. Way to go Manitoba, you continue to impress me months after my experience.

Now you see, this story doesn’t surprise me at all. I live in San Jose, and have a few Canadian friends… not to stereotype, but they are all friendly, generous people. And in fact, one of the reasons that I have followed hockey since 1993 is because of how humble and down-to-earth hockey players generally are.

Especially those from Canada. The recognition is well deserved.

Here’s to a good game tonight… (but go Sharks!)

I wonder if I’ll get close to that kind of treatment when I leave Canada for the first time, to check out a Jets game in Minneapolis. I know it aint far. But a girls gotta do, what a girls gotta do, to see a jets game. After numerous contests even a blood donation to try win tickets to a game, I finally decided to just get tickets somewhere else!!
