I told Ally K over Twitter that my expectation was that Scheifele would break Selanne’s rookie record. I was joking.

I also doubt the Jets decline to sign Scheifele to an ELC because of financial costs involved. Regardless lets wait until other teams put up better opposition before deciding on where Scheifele plays this season?

Jeff,

If he tears it up, he will have even more confidence next camp. Too many reasons not to send him back down.

I also think the alignment issue has been resolved.

great article and spot on. I loved watching Mark play live on Tuesday and for my money he had the best vision and hands on the ice that night….that being said what is the upside vs downside of sending him back to Junior this year?? One more year in Junior is the way to go. The good news for me is based on what i saw i think he will have a good shot at making the Jets in 2012-13

Hey Jeff,

This appears to be a problem for those using Internet Explorer as everything is aligned left for Google Chrome or Firefox users. Having said that, we are working on getting this fixed asap!!!

As much as I want to see this kid play this year, I agree with Richard that we do not want to jeopardize Scheifeles’ long term success or the long term success of the Winnipeg Jets. He has had only one season in the OHL. If the coaching staff decides to send him back to junior, where he will have more ice time and more of an opportunity to build his strength and confidence, I won’t cry about it. I also agree that management will likely not want to burn a year of his entry level contract.

All very true. I think we’re all just overly excited. Richy, you said it best in stating that another year in junior won’t hurt him. He’ll probably tear it up in Barrie and learn a ton more from Dale. Can’t lose there! The Jets had might as well ride out this year, see how it goes and fit him in down the road.

On another note: The site looks great, BUT…. I very much dislike that the articles are presented in a ‘centred’ alignment. It’s difficult and unnatural to read. Either either shift it to the left or use justified formatting.
