Good comments guys, always nice to get a discussion going on here. I think Tim makes a good point about the young defenders. I hope the Jets leave them in the minors to develop anyways.

Telegin (if he doesn't make it and gets to work with Mark for a year, that is fine too) and Gregoire are the two guys that I am looking at to potentially steal roster spots. They have enough offensive upside to help the team in a 3rd of 4th line role and I think the team is seriously lacking there.

We need somebody who can help put the puck in the net on the 3rd line, preferably at center or LW. Looking at the roster right now, either Fehr or Antorpov will likely be playing the wing on the third line. I don't know if Slater or Stapleton can make proper use of that winger.

Couturier has a good shot of making the club, but he is more of a what you see is what you get kind of player and there really should be limited space for guys with such little scoring potential.

All in all, there seems to be an abundance of 4th line players in the system, but not a ton of guys with scoring upside. There may be two lines of defensive specialists when it is all said and done.

The young D men will likely have a hard time making the cut this year. After some off season moves, it seems like the top 8 or so spots are already taken. If somebody can made the jump more power to them.
