Winnipeg Jets Afternoon Links

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets will open store Sunday. TNSE was originally going to close Jets Gear Sunday due to concerns that stock would be too low but they will be open tomorrow from Noon-5 p.m. Only T-shirts are available at the store. Royal Sports and River City Sports are also selling Jets merchandise.

Icethetics: Using the new logo, concept artists submit their best designs for the Winnipeg Jets jersey. Some nice looking jerseys here, can’t wait to see what the final product looks like.

Illegal Curve Audio: Scott Brown, Director of Corporate Communications and Hockey Operations for True North speaks about the fans’ reaction to the new logo.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets merch expected to sell out today.  1900 hats sold.  Guess mine isn’t as unique as I thought.  New Jets merchandise flying off the shelves.

Yahoo Sports:  Our five favorite Winnipeg Jets jersey design concepts.  I’m happy with the design chosen by True North.

London Free Press:  Jets logo was leaked.  As I said to someone today, impressive they kept it quiet as long as they did.

Around the NHL:

Columbus Dispatch:  Blue Jackets sign Prospal.  Jackets add some veteran scoring.

Arizona Republic:  Coyotes season tickets sales up despite uncertain future.  Good for fans in Arizona for sticking with the team despite all the drama in the desert.

I think the 5 designs that yahoo picked are all terrible. The only other concepts I liked at all were the ones by the British dude. The one didn’t blow me away, but the motivation for the new logo is solid and it is both clean and simple. I already preordered a Kane (# 9) Jersey from Royal Sports. Go Jets Go!

  2. Dave, I’m very impressed with the submissions on I already like the logo but I’m starting to ridiculously pumped up when I see the logo on these different jersey/colour schemes. Take a look at these if you haven’t. The designs from “John B.” and “Louie Campagna” are my two favourites but they’re all pretty awesome.
