I think there is every chance Gregoire takes a job at training camp. As Goon notes, he is a versatile player that can kill penalties, and though the Jets have added depth, there is certainly room for someone to take the initiative and secure themselves a spot. I doubt many guys are written in with pen.

I think when camp is settled we might be wondering who fits into our third line. There’s more depth in this organization now, but it’s still rather lean when it comes to players capable of playing in the top 9. Especially that left-wing spot is open to competition, and Gregoire certainly seems like he could step right into the NHL out of North Dakota.

It’s not ideal and I’d rather he played in the AHL for a couple of seasons, but who knows at this point.

Likely, but it’s possible he can jump right into the NHL. It’ll depend on how a lot of these players fare in training camp.

I think Gregoire and Klingberg are more likely to see third line work this season then fourth. If the Jets want to push Antropov back to centre (he wanted a switch to RW), he could centre a Gregoire – Antropov – Klingberg line that could be tough, yet produce some offensive numbers depending on how fast Gregoire and Klingberg are able to acclimate themselves to the NHL.

Jason Gregoire was one of the best two way forwards in the WCHA last season, he is an awesome penalty killer. Jason plays a smart game in all three zones of the ice. I believe it could be possible that Jason Gregoire will be called up sometime during the season to play for the Jets…

Jim Slater was always a good 4th line center for the Thrash, he was really missed when he got his concussion last season. He and Thorburn (and Boulton who won’t be back) made for a pretty strong 4th line. I would think Klingberg would be more of a 2nd/3rd liner guy than a checking line player.

Thanks Dan. I didn’t want to steal “truculent” from the Maple Leafs.

I think a 4th line with Klingberg and Gregoire (with a variety of centres) would give an opponent plenty of trouble. Similar type of player, but more offence from Gregoire.

From what I know Klingberg is actually more of a right winger, but can play on the left perfectly fine. Probably due to his fearless style. So we could see a line With Gregoire and Klingberg on the wings. Maybe Burmistrov in the middle? A boy can only dream.
