Winnipeg Free Press: NHL, union pin down salary arbitration dates.  Blake Wheeler is slated for August 3.  I took a look at Wheeler’s case about a week ago, click here for that piece.

Winnipeg Free Press: Ex-coach bullish on new Jet Gregoire.  This signing is going under the radar around most NHL circles but I think it should be garnering more attention.  If he is, at worse, a third line winger, and the team was able to sign him without giving up anything (aside from money) there really isn’t any downside.  Quietly good move by Jets management.

Winnipeg Free Press: More than Fehr-ly good.  Another deft move by Jets management.  I will have my full review of this trade posted last today.  In short, there is little not to like about this trade.  Cheveldayoff identified an under-utilized player on a team with cap issues and gave up very little to acquire him.

Winnipeg Free Press: Huddy heading to Jets.  Quietly the Jets are building their coaching staff.  Huddy is known for working well with young defensemen, of which the Jets have plenty.

WInnipeg Sun: Huddy agrees to join Jets as assistant coach.  Ken Wiebe also speculates that Ray Edwards will join the team to coach the forwards.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets acquire Fehr from Capitals.  Some people don’t realize Fehr is injured and may not be ready for the start of the season.
