“McArdle has played 33 games for the Panthers over the past three seasons, registering 1 goal and 2 assists.” This is a trade for St.John’s , and looks to be a better player for them than Esposito , helped the system.

In all honesty and injuries aside (and he did have ridiculously bad luck with injuries) I think he was overrated from the beginning. Esposito rode Radulov’s ridiculous 152 point season for the Quebec Remparts back in 05-06 to produce his excellent rookie season. Without Radulov around his production fell off and never picked up to its original heights.

Despite great heights (he was predicted to be a #1 overall pick at one point) his star was already fading as he was ending his junior career.

Has had terrible injury problems to be fair. But on his current path it will be difficult to turn into an NHLer, especially because he was always projected as a more of a top-six guy.

Esposito will likely never play a game in the NHL. His career has flown off of the tracks and at this point he struggles to even be relevant in the AHL. He played fourth line minutes for Chicago last season and apparently looked awful in the process putting up only 3 goals and 10 assists in 57 games.

The fact that Winnipeg was able to move him at all is impressive.
