When reporting about average attendances there is more than just the number of bodies that needs to be accounted for. One major thing to consider is how much money was spent on those tickets? Were everyone one of those tickets paid for in Dallas or were some/most of those giveaways by the Stars? Remember, its not the number of seats but the revenue generated by those seats. Winnipeg has a higher than average ticket price so that means higher revenue.

At least the 15,000 at the MTS will be bought and paid for for the next 3-5 years. Not many teams in the NHL can boast those kind of numbers.

If True North really wanted to push a new name they should have done it right when they bought the team on the 31st. Instead now we have Jetsmentum pushing things along and TNSE better jump aboard lest they be run over.

Is Forbes confirming that a $500 million bid for the Thrashers, Hawks and the arena did in fact exist? Because if so then Atlanta hockey fans have a lot to be angry about.
