The trouble with the “I want what’s best for the team..” answer is that it would be spun into “Boy, what a robot — he obviously hasn’t got it anymore and the Ducks are stuck with him.” or “Why do journalists bother asking questions like that — no, he doesn’t want to play a game he’s played for his whole life, obviously.” If his team doesn’t know what’s going on with this, they just haven’t being paying attention. None of them or the coaching staff will hang any of the team’s lack of focus on Giguere’s comments. I’m surprised you are.

I have no issue with Giguere’s sentiments, that’s fine. Instead, my issue is with his public commments. These thoughts are best kept behind closed doors, as they compromise the team’s focus and put Jonas Hiller–the better netminder–into a precarious position.

The otherwise pretty pathetic PBP guy made a good point when he said you wouldn’t want a Cup-winning #1 from only a few years ago who DIDN’T feel like that. I agree.
