• In Detroit, coach Mike Babcock said that the thinks Saturday’s game against Washington was the best game he’s seen Todd Bertuzzi play in years.
• It appears that Sheldon Souray will be lost to the Oilers for at least the next two games with a concussion.

• It looks like Jeff Deslauriers will get his first start of the season in one of the next two games.
• Edmonton is really happy with the progress of Ladislav Smid on the back-end.
• With the Panthers struggling, coach Pete DeBoer wants his players to stop trying to do too much on their own.
