The Wild could go on a tear this season. Got the proven O and the high-potential O. Got the proven D and the high-potential D. Got the top 8 G and the potential starter/trade bait G. Just need that elusive chemistry. My guess is they’ll either tear it up from the start or gel just after Christmas. Either way, it’ll be much more interesting to watch than the Jacques and Doug show. No doubt about that.

I was at Wild camp yesterday and make the following observations:
-Hilbert looked pretty good. Was skating with Kyle Brodziak and Eric Belanger
- PM Bouchard was playing with Miettenen and Cal Clutterbuck, and took a couple of young defenders to school.
-Brent Burns looks to have recovered. He was skating with Tyler Cuma, who looks pretty smooth for a kid his age.
-Barry Brust (I think) and Wade Dubliewicz were in the nets. Dubliewicz looked good, Brust did not. And thats being kind.
-Koivu was skating with Havlat (looked disinterested) and Brunette.
-Johnsson and Schultz were paired together
-Sheppard was with Gillies and a rotating winger, both had a lot of jump

As a whole, the Wild were much more up-tempo than last year (also saw a day of training camp in 2008). Always 2 (and sometimes 3) guys deep. Defense was active and it looked like the guys were having fun.
