- A football fan says that NFL officiating doesn’t look so bad when compared to the NHL. Meh. There have obviously been missed calls, but that’s going to happen. I think team loyalty sometimes magnifies perceived errors.
- In his Tuesday post, Gregg Drinnan of Taking Note calls for a return to a one-referee system. See above. Refereeing, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.
- Crash the Crease notes (via TSN) that the Hamilton Bulldogs and Toronto Marlies will open next year’s AHL season in Scotland. I am interested to see how the Euros take to watching minor pro hockey.
- David Staples comments on the rise of Jordan Staal and the fall of Marian Hossa.
- Scott Burnside of ESPN weighs in on the hiring of Marc Crawford. I agree with Burnside. There are many good coaches available, and I think its a mistake to let Tippett go.
- The Everything Hockey blog has a mock draft of 1-10. Nothing salacious here, just a very grounded guess as to how the first 10 will play out.
- Bangin’ Panger talks accountability in the blogosphere. Take a minute and read this one.
