It’s nice the Moose are doing well, but it’s a little sad so many have hopped on the bandwagon and accept Winnipeg as a “minor league city” for hockey. (What else does buying a Moose ticket say?)

I personally think this affects any motivation the Chipman family has in acquiring an NHL franchise for the MTS Centre. I know there’s an NHL ownership group in Winnipeg, but seeing people now supporting the Moose and even the media beginning with their “Who needs the NHL? We have a great AHL team!” articles, it doesn’t sit right with me.

Even if the Moose win it all, Edmonton, Calgary, and Ottawa still get to enjoy the best hockey in the world. Teams like the Red Wings and Penguins. Players like Crosby and Ovechkin.

And Winnipeg, sadly, continues to miss out. Winnipeg deserves better.
