The ongoing Phoenix situation and the media's generally sycophantic stance towards Bettman is becoming ridiculous. When even Stan Fischler states (in this week's Fischler Report) that the NHL is better off in Phoenix than "some hamlet in Ontario) you know the league is handing out a lot of kool-aid to the scribes.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the empty buildings in some of the southern markets is a disaster. For every Dallas, there are three other places that literally can't give tickets away. Its time for the NHL to admit that there were mistakes made. It happens to everyone and its best to fess up to the fact and move on. You can't force people to like hockey, and ignoring actual fans in a ready-made market only compounds the problem.
