- Here are five keys to the Ducks’ season, from Dan Wood of the Orange County Register. I think the second point he mentions is most important.
- Craig Rivet has been named the captain of the Sabres for the entire season. Love this move from Lindy Ruff. I continue to believe that Rivet will end up being one of the most important off-season acquisitions around the NHL.
- Here are the Flames’ lines from practice this morning. A little different than what we saw in the pre-season.
- More line combinations, this time from the Blue Jackets this morning. I agree with Portzline, seems odd that the team’s two most talented rookies are on the fourth line.
- Marian Hossa is on the cover of SI. Nice work by the Wings to get on the cover.
- Martin Brodeur has unveiled a new mask. His had become such a classic, I’m surprised he changed it.
- Senators coach Craig Hartsburg has been impressed with Filip Kuba and Alex Picard through his team’s first two games. Bryan Murray is one of the more underrated GMs in the game, so don’t think he was giving away Meszaros for 50 cents on the dollar.
- Is Vinny Prospal already off the top line in Tampa? We’ll see if these changes stick before the team’s third regular season game on Saturday.
