• Instead of hopping on a plane like every other season, Jason Strudwick is looking forward to sticking around Edmonton when training camp begins, writes Derek Van Diest of the Edmonton Sun.
• Marian Gaborik will line-up beside Mikko Koivu on the team’s top line next season, writes John Shipley of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.  The Wild management attempted to provide an answer for every concern Gaborik presented at the recent meeting between the two sides, explains Michael Russo.
• As Mike Zeisberger of the Toronto Sun tells us, Paul Holmgren is very interested in adding Mats Sundin to the Flyers roster.  Even though the Flyers are interested in Sundin’s services, it is probably still a long-shot that the team will add him, writes Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
• The Hurricanes’ 2nd round draft pick in this past summer’s draft Zac Delpe has opted to attend Ohio State University.
• Nikita Filatov has finally been given his Visa, but the Jackets have bigger things to worry about as former 2nd round pick Stefan Legein has decided to retire from the game at 20 years old.
• The Red Wings have actually seen more changes with their staff than with their players over the summer, writes George Sipple of the Detroit Free Press.
