Good point. The "in the room" aspect is very important for any player. But like you say, it is Morrow's team and my sense of Morrow is that he is the best type of captain: he leads by example, which means that other players often do the laying down of the law on his behalf; but he does "have a word" (quiet or not) on occasion. I understand that Brett Hull is not too averse to speaking his mind from time to time. Seems that he can be quite forceful, too.

Part of the reason I really like the signing is the confidence it shows in Avery with its term and the movement clause. Those two aspects might do a lot towards settling him down and giving him the incentive to just play hockey.

I hope so, because before those two playoff series with the Sharks and the Wings I was pretty ambivalent towards the Stars, but now I'm looking forward to seeing how they do.

And hey, they're a good early doubleheader game if the eastern games are busts -- like Chicago and Phoenix are looking to be. Game on!

Still not. Thing is, I do like Avery as a player but I still wonder if he is the right fit in Dallas. That is Brenden Morrow's team and I'm just not sure how that locker room will work.

Another excellent interview.

Of course, being an Avery advocate, I especially liked the comments Craig made about him; despite the possible bias he might have had having spent three days shadowing him. I'll be interested to read that article.

Any softening in your stance, Richard?
